Our Directors

Bill Evans
Bill EvansUnderwriting Director
Bill is a member of the Bar of England and Wales and the British Virgin Islands, practising from 3 Hare Court. Prior to this Bill was a partner at law firms DLA and Irwin Mitchell working for insurance clients. In 2008 Bill co-founded one of the early entrants to the litigation funding market, Vannin Capital, before moving with his co-founder to Chancery Capital Advisors LLP. Whilst at Vannin Bill was the director of due diligence, a role he continued with Chancery Capital.

Bill as Lindrick’s Underwriting Director, draws on his years of experience in practice in insurance litigation as counsel, as a solicitor advising insurance clients and as underwriter for Vannin Capital and Chancery Capital. With the combination of law firm, funder and chambers roles (both in practise and management, including referring matters for funding and ATE,), Lindrick has experienced first-hand the greatest number of perspectives of the funding and ATE markets. We are not aware of a current market participant with that skill set.

Michael Couling
Michael CoulingManaging Director
Michael Couling is Lindrick’s Managing Director. Michael held Management / Business Development roles in Magic Circle and leading commercial / chancery sets of chambers over a period of 36 years. Michael’s connections among law firms range from Magic Circle, through Mid-Town, West End, boutique to small and sole practitioner law firms in and around London and in the regions. Those connections practise in the fields of commercial litigation, company/insolvency, (international) arbitration, property litigation and fraud, amongst other disciplines.

Equally, Michael has wide-ranging insolvency practitioner contacts by virtue of his 14 years spent in chambers specialising in insolvency litigation. Those contacts extend from the Big Four to regional small and sole practitioners.

During his time with chambers Michael was involved as an adjunct to the funding and ATE markets from the time of their early development in the UK.

Funded Cases

With an emphasis on funded cases, we will work with our law firm and insolvency practitioner connections, drawn from decades of industry experience, to provide a seamless, convenient and time-efficient package of ATE together with sourced litigation finance, thus avoiding duplication of effort. Our aim here is to limit, where we can, the work-in-progress time exposure of the applicant.

Our process is agile. For example, we dealt with a recent application where ATE was urgently sought for a substantial matter being conducted in the DIFC. From receipt of the application, we provided the applicant with an offer of ATE within 6 working days.

You will find our approach swift, straightforward, collaborative and our assistance to your practice a useful and complementary resource, freeing up fee earners’ time. We are also happy to work with the law firm or IP to use our offering not only to assist with present cases but also to utilise funding and ATE options to help you develop your practice.  Our reach is global and we have a flexible limit of indemnity, enabling us to cater for claim values of all sizes. We can also consider own side’s costs.

Naturally, we are also very happy to discuss cases before you have begun seeking your litigation finance and ATE options. We are very familiar with all of the mainstream funders as well as the specialist, niche providers so are confident that we can assist with all qualifying cases within our areas of expertise.

What we cover includes:

With our substantial combined network of connections built over decades in the industry, another of our aims is to facilitate introductions across the litigation landscape here in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

We look forward to working with you
